Seeds of Light
Seeds of Light. (Psalm 97:11, NKJV)
In the midst of daily living, as the trials of life descend,
And our problems overwhelm us, wondering when it all will end,
Let me take you to the Bible where we find great words of hope.
When the world seems all against us – read the Word that helps us cope.
As David poured his heart before God asking why, oh Lord, how long
Will the righteous men be trampled by the men who live so wrong?
Know that seeds beneath the ground where the dirt and darkness lie
Will soon burst forth in glory as great trees that touch the sky.
So the Lord has given hope in this single, solemn phrase:
“Light is sown (like seed) for the righteous” – we can watch for better days.
Light that’s hidden in the darkness begins to sprout, and then to grow,
Dispelling gloom and fear and sorrow, defeating darkness as it glows!
The Seed of Light was buried, three days in darkness lay.
The seed sown for the righteous rose to life that glorious day!
So when you’re feeling down, when gloom and darkness descend
Remember: Christ defeated darkness! He IS the LIGHT of men!
