I wrote this song while stationed in Korea.
If only I had the words to express
How my life had been filled with emptiness.
I wasted so many years, it’s true
Yet I always knew just what I had to do:
Turn it over, turn it over, turn it over to the Lord.
Turn it over to the Lord, my life of emptiness.
Turn it over, turn it over, turn it over to the Lord.
He filled my life with peace and joy and happiness.
When I was young and out of school
I never lived by the golden rule.
I searched each day for meaning in life,
But I only found confusion and strife.
But the Lord loves all His children, He’s taken me back in.
He tenderly caressed my and forgave me all my sins.
I tried to make it on my own for oh, so many years.
Now He took away my selfish pride, my loneliness and fears…
When I turned it over, turned it over, turned it over to the Lord.
Turned it over to the Lord, my life of emptiness.
Turned it over, I turned it over, turned it over to the Lord.
He filled my life with peace and joy and happiness.
Now my walk is just beginning, in Christ I’ll start to grow.
He has a purpose for our lives, through us His work will show.
He’s always there and listening, and is waiting even yet,
To fill your life with happiness, but you must take this step:
And turn it over, turn it over, turn it over to the Lord.
Turn it over to the Lord, your life of emptiness.
Turn it over, turn it over, turn it over to the Lord.
He’ll fill your life with peace and joy and happiness.
